What is TWS?

Time Well Spent is a series of workshops that introduce children to a variety of industries and careers. TWS Workshops are designed for students ages 9-15 who enjoy hands-on learning in a small group setting.

Seasoned Professionals Sharing Knowledge and Wisdom
with Our Children

TWS Workshops are led by seasoned professionals who are passionate about their careers and excited to share their knowledge and wisdom. TWS Workshop Leaders come from diverse backgrounds to ensure that TWS students have the opportunity to learn about a variety of careers.

Each Workshop Leader will share knowledge about their job. Including:

• what they do,
• what skills they use, and
• what type of training or education is required.

The beauty of the TWS program, though, is that our Workshop Leaders go even further and share wisdom with our children. For example:

• how their faith affects them in the workplace,
• how their career has influenced other parts of their life, and
• what their career can teach us about living in our world.

TWS Workshop Leaders also incorporate hands-on activities into their presentations to ensure that their teaching really comes alive for all TWS students. To see examples, check out the links under our Fall Session.

Communication Skills Development

TWS students also have many opportunities to develop their communication skills by:

• designing and using their own business cards to introduce themselves to Workshop Leaders,
• interacting with and asking Workshop Leaders questions throughout the workshops, and
• volunteering to write and present introductions of Workshop Leaders.

Parent Attendance

All parents are invited to attend each Workshop. There is no additional cost for a parent to attend. Although not required, we encourage parent attendance both to enhance your child's experience and to give parents the opportunity to also benefit from our Workshop Leaders' wisdom. We are amazed at how much we have learned from helping Workshop Leaders develop their presentations and have received positive feedback from parents who have participated in the past and have enjoyed learning with their children.
